For some time now, a number of  individuals have seen fit to cause wilful damage to Clapton FC, either by electronic media or criminal damage to  property at the Old Spotted Dog. These unfortunate attempts to disrupt the club or its advancement will not deter our plans to rebuild this once famous club.

The latest incident took place between last Friday evening and Saturday morning after the facility had been prepared for the Saturday match between London Bari and FC Romania. A number of people entered the facility and ripped out all the copper cylinders, piping and the boiler. They also left the water running, resulting in part of the ceiling coming down in the away team changing room and damaging the integrity of the home changing room. This all happened, just hours before the match.

We would like to say thank you to both London Bari and FC Romainania for their understanding in this matter, as nevertheless, both teams wanted the game to go ahead, despite what had happened. The clearing up of the facility would not have been possible if it wasn’t for Gordon, Ronnie, Erskine, Bob and Paul who all rallied to the call and cleared up and repaired some of the damage.

We would also like to mention the support of the Essex Senior League and the officials in facilitating the match in the circumstances.

Although this incident has caused a lot of damage and cost,  “We will be open for business as usual and scheduled matches will go ahead”.

Those of you who have conveyed words of support thank you its encouraging to know we have so much support out their.
