Dear All,

It is with great sadness that Clapton must announce the passing of our long time Secretary and supporter, Iain Hollowell. Iain was the person who stood by Clapton Football Club when others chose to attack us. He continued to come to our matches with his son and granddaughter to his last days. He was at our last match against Redbridge, at the end of January, when Clapton won 7. 2, so he had a good send off.

We don’t know when this will be but Clapton will be honoring him with a minute’s silence at our next match.

Iain will be sadly missed, not only as a true supporter but as a football man who looked at the team and stated his views without bias or favour. He was also Clapton’s historian and provided us with many of the unknown achievements of the Tons.

To the Hollowell family, our thoughts are with you, with the loss of this great man.

Rest in Peace Iain.
