Clapton Football Club is proud to announce that Jay Emmanuelle-Thomas will be playing for Clapton Football Club again in our match against Ware FC today.
Jay has played for Arsenal, QPR, Ipswich, and Bristol City. Jay is returning home to Clapton Football Club where his father Wilfred Thomas has been a coach for almost two decades and has been instrumental in producing many young players who have gone on to play in the Premier and Champion football leagues.
Jay, now a free agent, will be with us until he signs another pro contract. This will give the club’s many aspiring players first hand experience of a professional player and what’s need to reach that level.
Commenting, Jay said: “Its an honour to play for such an iconic club such as Clapton Football Club and I hope that me being here will inspire others to achieve the professional contract they desire.”
We have all witnessed Jay growing into a true professional and its a testament to him, that he wanted to give something back to Clapton and the local community by returning and playing for us.
