Ex QPR and Bristol Rovers professional, Ross Weare has joined the Tons as the Manager with immediate effect. Michael Walter has been promoted to Head of Football for the club.

Commenting, Chief Executive, Vincent McBean said “This is a fantastic appointment for Clapton. Ross brings a high level of professionalism, knowledge of football and a proven track record in the game.”

Ross will be starting immediately on getting the team ready for the coming season.

Commenting on his appointment, Ross said: “I would like to thank Clapton FC for the opportunity to manage such a historic club. It’s a privilege to be joining one of the oldest teams in non league football.

I’m honoured and looking forward to the challenge ahead and can’t wait to get started.

I will work hard to bring the good times back to the club with a team that plays exciting attacking football. A team that plays with passion, pride and the will to work hard for each other on and off the pitch.
