Following the First Qualifying Round of the Buildbase FA Vase against Hertford Town, Clapton Football Club was charged by the FA for playing an ineligible player, Yakup Sayer. We appealed and a hearing was held on 15th September 2016 the decision was as follows:

Whilst it was acknowledged that the Competition rules had been breached, the Members were satisfied with the explanation and mitigation provided within the submissions made on behalf of Clapton FC and as such the Members exercised their discretionary power, in accordance with FA Vase Rule 16(c), not to remove Clapton FC from the Competition. The Members ordered that the First Round Qualifying tie be replayed to a conclusion at Hertford Town FC on Tuesday 20 September 2016, 7.45pm kick off.

For the avoidance of doubt Yakup Sayer will not be playing in the replay on 20th September 2016
