Following a meeting on 1 May 2014, between Clapton FC officers and Chris Wood, the Senior Team Manager, it was mutually agreed for both parties to go their separate way.

Commenting on the decision, Vincent McBean, Chief Executive said: “Chris had previously indicated to the Clapton management during the later part of 2013, that he would be moving away from the Club and London. Given that he was more than 90% certain that this would be the case, we started to make preparations, as any responsible organisation would do,  for a replacement to ensure the stability of Clapton, which is paramount in the development of the team and the future of the Club.

There have been many highlights and challenges this season. One of the most positive is that Chris, along with the coaching and development team have taken the Senior team from 18th place last season to mid table for 2013-14.  We would like to thank Chris for all of his hard work at Clapton and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
